Lumibirds

In this vibrant and playful scene, the Lumibirds family — winged, colorful beings born in Lumitopia — flies through a starry sky and lands in the human warmth of a street market in Rio, beneath the open arms of Christ the Redeemer. Surrounded by tropical fruits, colorful stalls, and iconic vendor phrases, they delight in the joy that blooms from simplicity:

“Look at the banana, apple, avocado!”,

“Only fresh fruit here!”,

“Pretty girl doesn’t pay… but she doesn’t take it either!”

The composition blends pop-inspired visuals with poetic, accessible storytelling. The Lumibirds walk among toys, fruits, and guitar music, celebrating the meeting of fantasy and Brazilian everyday life. In the background, Christ watches in silence — as if blessing the flight of those who come from afar, yet instantly recognize the beauty in small, human things.

This artwork is a tribute to popular affection, oral culture, and the symbolic power of the street market as a place of exchange, welcome, and presence.
